Win tickets to films at BFI

The Instituto Cervantes London is supporting the British Film Institute as it hosts a season entitled ‘Clandestí. Invisible Catalan Cinema Under Franco’ this November.

The series at BFI Southbank runs from Thursday November 25 until Tuesday November 30, celebrating the work of the independent filmmakers – resourceful and innovative – who produced creative and experimental films in defiance of  Franco’s repressive regime.

And we are delighted to tell you that we’ve got two pairs of tickets to give away to students and friends of the Instituto Cervantes London.

To enter, just send an email to aclon7@cervantes.es with “Catalan Cinema” in the subject field and your name, address and phone number in the message. Closing date for entries is 9am on Friday November 19.

GANA ENTRADAS PARA EL BFI

El Instituto Cervantes en Londres en colaboración con el British Film Institute albergará este mes de Noviembre el ciclo titulado “Clandestí. Invisible Catalan cinema under Franco”.

Las proyecciones en BFI Southbank tendrán lugar desde el jueves 25 de Noviembre hasta el martes 30 Noviembre, se trata de mostrar el trabajo de cineastas independientes – ingeniosos e innovadores- que produjeron películas creativas y experimentales desafiando el régimen de Franco.

Nos complace anunciar que ofrecemos dos entradas dobles para regalar entre los estudiantes y amigos del Instituto Cervantes en Londres.

Para participar, envíe un correo electrónico a aclon7@cervantes.es con el asunto “El cine catalán” y con su nombre, dirección y número de teléfono. Las inscripciones estarán abiertas hasta las 09.00 del viernes 19 de noviembre.

Cerveza? Now you’re talking…

Fancy improving your Spanish in the comfort of a proper English pub?

¿Te apetece practicar tu inglés en un tradicional pub británico?

Some of the Instituto Cervantes London teachers are setting up a language exchange group so that they and other Spanish expats can improve their English while helping students to use their Spanish outside the classroom.

The first meeting is being held upstairs at The Antelope, 22 Eaton Terrace, London SW1W 8EZ – a two-minute walk from the Instituto Cervantes towards Sloane Square – on Thursday November 18, from 7pm onwards.

The idea is that the meeting is informal, friendly and fun – and there’ll be no membership fees or anything like that, just a chat over a drink or two. If the first one is a success, the teachers hope to make it a regular monthly event in the New Year.

The Antelope is a traditional, welcoming British boozer, with a reputation for serving a selection of well-kept ales, and has long been the favoured pub for Instituto Cervantes teachers wanting a quick drink after evening classes. See you there!

¿Te apetece practicar tu inglés en un tradicional pub británico?

Los profesores del  Instituto Cervantes de Londres quieren crear un grupo de intercambio de idiomas entre españoles e ingleses para ayudar a sus alumnos a practicar el español fuera de sus clases.

El primer encuentro tendrá lugar en el pub The Antelope, 22 Eaton Terrace, London SW1W 8EZ – a dos minutos andando desde el Instituto Cervantes hacia Sloane Square- el jueves 18 de Noviembre, a partir de las 19.00.

La idea es tener un encuentro informal, agradable y divertido, sin inscripciones ni cuotas, simplemente pasar el rato y tomar unas copas. Si este primer encuentro tiene éxito, los profesores esperan hacerlo mensualmente.

The Antelope es una tradicional tasca británica, con una reputación de servir una amplia selección de buenas cervezas. Además ha sido durante mucho tiempo el lugar favorito de los profesores del Instituto Cervantes para tomar una copa tras las clases.
